What is Ka Huna?

Ka is spirit and Huna refers to the age old Huna philosophy. So for me it is the embodiment of the spirit of the Huna philosophy which you then receive in bodywork or massage form. The Ka Huna is the dispenser of the spirit of Huna. The Ka Huna is the practitioner and conduit for the healing energy you receive.

You will come to learn that Ka Huna has nothing to with the film “Pulp Fiction,” the Big KaHuna… whatever that is, Cohuna the place in central Victoria or even the KaHuna Burger! The Ka Huna massage experience gives you a holistic approach to rejuvenation & healing for body, mind & soul.

I watch carefully how my clients are after receiving Ka Huna Bodywork. Time and time again I see younger-looking and lighter human beings. It is as if years have been stripped away. Joy and wonderment are there. I see also that my clients have been in a deep state of nurturing relaxation. This for me is a very satisfying outcome for everyone. The merits of any and all treatments I ask to be sent to all sentient beings.

What is Ka Huna Bodywork?

Ka Huna Bodywork originated in the South Pacific and was used during Rites of Passage as a transitional massage and healing system. It is also known as Hawaiian Temple Style Massage and Lomi Lomi. This beautiful form of bodywork provides a holistic approach to healing by balancing the body-mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Ka Huna Bodywork is unique in a number of respects. The practitioner uses their hands, forearms and elbows and moves around the client on the table (using flowing Hula and Tai Chi style movements). They work with energy to aply soft and deep tissue massage. Music is played and the practitioner attunes the flow of the massage to harmonise the various rhythms within the client's body, mind & soul.

What is a Ka Huna Bodywork Session?

The massage therapist will consult with you about the current state of your physical, mental and emotional health. This assists both client and therapist in deciding on the treatment focus for the session.

During the massage, it helps to focus your attention on your breath. Each inhalation offers a chance to draw fresh energy and inspiration into the body-mind. Each exhalation, an opportunity to dissolve tension, to let go of anything that limits you and to deepen your experience of relaxation.

If you experience discomfort or would like to express a particular need, feel free to communicate with me at any stage during the massage.

It is important to drink plenty of water after a massage as this assist in the detoxifying process.

Ka Huna bodywork is a powerful form of healing that affects people differently. In the days following a massage, you might experience a range of emotions without getting caught up in them and let them flow. The healing/cleansing effects and re-balancing of the body-mind can be felt for weeks after the treatment.

Remember...

you are not your body
you are not your emotions
you are not your thoughts
you are a spark of the Divine!

Testimonials

“After Kahuna there’s nothing else!”  Oriana continued “I feel cleansed and high on life.”

“As a medical practitioner, trained to treat the body as a physical entity, Peter took me on a journey through Kahuna massage, revealing to me the true power of holistic healing.Through Peter's sensitive connection and approach to his therapy, I felt my whole body, mind and soul were nurtured.”Dr. Richard Mayes, General Practitioner.
"I first met Peter and had my inaugural Ka Huna massage 9 months after my third child was born, when I was feeling emotionally and physically exhausted.  In his customary caring & gentle manner, Peter warned me that ‘things may come up’ and to my great surprise, after the most energetic, intense yet enjoyable massage, I found myself having to send him out of the room so that I could have an uncharacteristic howl.  It was a real turning point for me and I began not only booking in for regular treatments myself, but - over the years - treating special friends to this unique massage experience.  All were serious city ‘massage connoisseurs,’ but all agreed that it was ‘the best massage I have ever had!’ with several returning to our country town for a repeat performance. Peter's whole-hearted listening, openness & spiritual perspectives, made it the complete rejuvenating treatment for me as it felt like counselling, massage and spiritual healing all rolled into one.“ Maggie, Counsellor

“Kahuna with Peter is a whole body respectful massage that is deeply healing and rejuvenating, increasing vitality, energy and reducing chronic pain. “   Carol, Castlemaine

“Thank you for the priceless gift of Kahuna massage. Both times I have visited I have felt deeply honoured, nurtured and most of all loved. Thank you for your great care and consideration. My very best wishes to you and your family for your new life in Newcastle.” Sharron, Victoria

“Kahuna is the most heart-opening, healing bodywork I have ever experienced and Peter's hands and heart are like those of a master craftsman in his art. It is a total privilege to be one of his clients - he makes you feel like you are the only person in the world. Words can't explain the magic he weaves.” Lucy
